Chippenham <1>
3d March 1830

Dear Sir /

I have this Morning recd your favor of the 1st Inst & as soon as I get the Map from Mr Darley <2>, will attend to your instructions about it – –

I am just going into Yorkshire for a few days & have desired my Son <3> to enclose the Prospectus of the Lacock Society & your Book from Messrs Gundrey & Co <4> in a Parcel, to the care of Lady Elizth <5> at the Abbey – I hope, in time to convey it to Town –– the Printer has been very much occupied lately with Bills for Sales in the Neighbourhood which has prevented his doing the Prospectus sooner –

I earnestly hope that it may not be necessary for the Parish to employ able bodied Labourers another year – but if it should, I think they would gladly embrace the Proposal wch you mention –

I am Dear Sir yr obliged Sert
W. H. Awdry

W. H. F. Talbot Esq
