Mssrs. Awdry have twice sent me papers (which I have not read) and on both occaisions I returned them, stating that I would not undertake the Reference - that I have not an hour to spare for any business of the kind - besides I do not transact business of that kind - I have not undertaken any thing out of my own agencies for many years - I shall be at Lord Sherbourne's in Gloucestershire<1> the whole of next week.
