Sir,

It having been stated to His Majesty’s Commissioners for the Affairs of Taxes, that you have not made a Return under the Assessed Tax Acts, on the Notice Paper left for you at your Residence Albany <1>

for the Year ending the 5th of April 1826; by which default you have rendered yourself liable to a Penalty of £50. I am directed by the Board to call upon you for a full and complete Return of all the Articles chargeable to the Assessed Taxes, kept or used by you between the 5th of April 1824, and the 6th of April 1825, of which a Return is required by the Acts of Parliament relating to those Duties, and to apprize you that unless the said Return be transmitted to the Surveyor of that District, Mr. J– Betterton of 11 Denmark St Soho

within the Space of Fourteen Days from the Date hereof, the Board will be under the necessity of commencing a prosecution against you.

A Notice Paper may be obtained from the Assessor of the Parish if the one left at your Residence has been mislaid.
