Honble Sir

On leaving London I found with the Books for reading in the railroad Carriages and which were wraped up together and put in My Bag at Boulogne for safety to get wet, one of your Molliere. – I did wrap it up properly, put your Name on it and left it in the porters Lodge, I saw no body to [illegible deletion] speak to except a porter who carries luggage, you will be Kind Enough to Claim it on your next return to Town; ther is no alteration in the Journey switzerland and the north of Italy are the Countries which the ladies wish to visit, I hope the weather will get more favourable, I am certain to be disengaged in the middle of october, I hope you arrived safe I found all your Family quite well, trusting that you are so well your self as I left you at the Station which I think was to your satisfaction, as to myself I felt a great secret pleasure in believing that you looked better than before leaving England<.> My humble esteem to your Family and believe me to remain Honble Sir your obedient & Grateful Servant

M. J. Bayer
