My dear Sir
I write to ask you, if you are near a place called Whitwell in the Isle of Wight, to look at an Assyrian head and inscribed brick which are in the possession of the Revd R. B. Oliver the Vicar of that parish. He offers them for sale, and it is desirable to know what they are. I have asked him to send up copies – but it would be a favor if you would look at them. The text of the plates of 3rd Volume is written and the whole will I hope soon come out as it is not very long and can soon then be printed. Have you seen Opperts last work Les Inscriptions de Doursakan [Khorsabad].
