Lacock.
Mar 12 – 1863.

My dear Sir

You will be glad to hear that all passed off well – & I believe satisfactorily to all parties on Tuesday Last –

We were enabled to give all males above 14 yrs of age 1½ lb. of new [illegible] & all females 1 lb of [illegible] each –

Also an illuminated Card for each family to keep as a memorial of the Day –

Every child under 14 yrs of age had a charming looking medal – suspended to a blue ribbon – & a 3d Bun. – And about 60 old people had, in addition – 1cwt of Coal each –

And now the next thing is to pay the Bills and so I trust you will forgive my troubling you, by requesting, at your earliest convenience, the forwarding of your promised Contribution –

With Kind remembrances to Mrs Talbot & your daughters and Son if with you.

Believe me yrs very sincerely
Arthur Blomfield
