Lacock.
Sat Aft.
My dear Sir
I have been absent from here – for the last few weeks – otherwise should have called – May I ask you for your usual Subscription to the School <feast?>, which took place in August during your absence – I enclose the Book – & the paper in – marks the Subscripn List.
The other paper refers to the meeting of the Wilts. Friendly Society (Lacock Branch) – which took place – also during your absence in May – the donations requested for that – are to meet expenses of the Bands chiefly –
The Members this year paid for their own dinners – entirely instead of partly only as last & preceding year –
So that the Sum deficient is very much smaller than last year’s –
But I hope by another year that we shall not require Subscriptns at all for the Festival Day – but that the Benefit Members should pay each one, a little more – than sufficient for their dinners – so as to leave a Surplus for Band &c – This Branch I am rejoiced to say – is – now, since it s has had its new Clerk (<Times?> the Schoolmaster) – going on famously –
A little help this year, towards expenses of its Festival Day, will be an encouragement – but I hope very much – that this will be the last year for asking for this help – Apologies for thus troubling you.
Believe me, my dear Sir yrs very sincerely,
Arthur Blomfield –
