My dear Mr. Talbot –

I propose paying another visit to your interesting, & “august” abode, chiefly because I wish to show the Abbey, whose story I have told, to Mr Sergeant & his new bride Mrs Sergeant Merewether. <1> If you are at home we shall rejoice, if not I shall trust to the welcome Old Bowles has always found

& believe me, still giddy, but sincerely
W L Bowles

We shall come Thursday next [illegible deletion] about one o’clock and are anxious to see a specimen of the Photo-genic art – by its Inventor, in his own Abbey Abby –

Best regards to Mrs Talbot. <2>

C.[sic] F. Talbot Esq
Lacock Abbey
Chippenham
