Dear Mr Talbot

I thank you very much <1> for the Engravings <2> of Strasburg Cathedral, and Glenturret house. I got from the late Sir William Murray two beautiful photographs of Glenturret House, one of which is the original of your Engraving, so that I can see that the Engraving is a most perfect representation of the Photograph.

If you have engraved the Photograph of myself which you mentioned your intention of doing I should like to see it.

I am one of the Jury on Philosophical Instruments <3> &c &c.

I have taken Mount Lodge Portobello, <4> where we hope to be on the 8th or 9th.

I am, Ever Most Truly yrs
