Poor Law Commission Office
Somerset House
10th August 1835
Sir,
I have submitted your letter of the 6th instant together with your former Letter of the 20th ulte addressed to Mr Lefevre to the Poor Law Commissioners for England and Wales and the Board have directed the names and particulars of the families in whose behalf you have interested yourself to be forwarded to Mr Jellicorse a Manufacturer at Halifax - who is in want of hands of the description mentioned
The board have requested an early answer from Mr Jellicorse stating (should he feel disposed to engage the parties) the probable amount of wages which each Member of the Families would be enabled to earn a copy of which so soon as received will be forwarded for your information.
In the mean time I beg to submit according to your request an extract from a Letter received from one of the Manufacturers respecting the amount of earning of some families who migrated from Bledlow which may be considered as a fair average of the amount of wages which Families of a similar description might calculate upon obtaining.
I have the honor to be Sir Your very obedient Servt
E. Chadwick
Secretary
