My dear Sir/
I hope you will not consider me intrusive in writing to you, but I am anxious to know if you would object to extending the term of my hire of water from your Spring on Nash Hill – I believe there is now 20 years unexpired of the term granted to Captn Rooke – I need not of course say to you that it is a great comfort to this place & as new Pipes have cost me a great deal, I think still more of it. I will not trouble you by writing more, nor would I have done so now had I not thought that in these cases – it is always best to apply to Head-quarters.
An answer will greatly oblige
Yrs very truly
