Revd R. Cattermole
Monday 25 June 1849
Dr Sir
As the R. S. L. <1> have done me the honor to elect me a member of the Council, I regret very much that I find great difficulty in attending the meetings – I am seldom in Town, and then only for a day or two – I called this morning at the rooms of the Society to explain this to you if you had been at home – I will however thank you to mention it as my reason for not being present next Thursday as I am obliged to leave Town this evg.
My address is Lacock Abbey Chippenham, and not “the Athenæum” <2>
Believe me Yours very truly
H. F. Talbot
