Dear Talbot

I have just two minutes to tell you how glad I am to hear that you are in good preservation, and what pleasure I have in presenting you with a Copy of my libel bill. I send also a parcel which came for you from the Ast Soc. <1> of which you are a member. I paid the first year’s subscription for you, amounting to four guineas – Worsley <2> is at Florence, I believe – Digby <3> is here and Kindersley <4> expected –

Yours in hurry
H Coddington

The Observatory <5> is nearly finished but there are no Instruments ready except the Transit

Notes:

1. Astronomical Society.

2. Probably Rev Thomas Worsley (1797–1885), theologian & Master of Downing College, Cambridge.

3. For Digby see Doc. No: 01747.

4. Probably Sir Richard Torin Kindersley (1792–1879), a fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge.

5. The Cambridge Observatory. [See Doc. No: 01747].
