Dear Sir
I am much obliged to you for your kind promise the Translations must however have no exegetical notes merely stating the place of the Inscription and in what work the original text appears. It would be impossible otherwise to bring out a series of 3/6 “Records of the Past” <1> for all Readers
Could you promise about 50 pages of Translation by six weeks hence? I am pressed on all sides to issue the work at once It would be particularly desirable to print the Historical & Mythological Portions in Vol I. Vol II will be Egyptian
I send off your copy of Vol II P. I tomorrow
Private
Do you know anything of Mr E. R. Hodges <2> as an Assyriologist
I remain Dear Sir Yours fally
