Dear Sir
I am sorry that in the hurry of writing my last letter to you I should not have clearly expressed the desire both of Messrs Petter & Galpin and myself to have separate subjects to issue instead of duplicate copies of the same subject, and so have given you the trouble of trying to prepare duplicate copies of the Bridge of Prague in such a hurry.
As your favour of this morning suggests the plan which I had intended to express, it was thought that time would be saved by sending a telegraphic message to you on the subject, and I have to thank you for the very prompt and kind reply which I have just received: I believe Messrs Petter & Galpin are now writing to you on this and other subjects.
I enclose the M.S. of your specification, with many thanks for the early possession of it – and also a proof of the separate Copy. I have carefully read it over with the specification and have found two little errors – which, with any you may point out shall be corrected when they are printed. It will be on larger paper and in a colored wrapper – and unless you wish a greater number only 25 copies will be printed according to your first request.
With respect to the amount of praise which I have bestowed upon it the new process in the Photo: News I can assure you that I have not spoken nearly so strongly in their favour as the eminent scientific men and Photographers to whom I have shown your proofs.
I saw Prof: Wheatstone on Saturday and mentioned the subject of the large transparencies to him he said then that they were quite at your service.
Believe me very truly yours
William Crookes.
