Sir,

I have received from Mr Claudet <1> a new dt of a licence from yourself to him to use the Calotype – and from what he says I think it possible that my copy of the former draught licence was handed to you – if so I request the favor of your returning it to me – I presume that it is intended that Mr Claudet shall have the liberty to use the inventions or improvements mentioned in the Specification of your second patent <2> and also any further improvements you may make.
