Sir,

I have reinstated the first recital in the Licence and have altered it to meet, as far as possible, the your wishes. The alterations &c will be found in pages 4 & 5 and the backs of pages 8 & 13 all in red ink. It appears to me, that the intention to make the license [sic] personal to Mr Claudet, <1> makes it necessary to state that he may share the profits with others & without the power to do that, he could not exercise the art at all.

I trust the draught will now have your approbation – but in the event of your wishing to see me again upon it, I will consider tomorrow between three and four as the time appointed for my recei having the pleasure of a call from you, if that time will meet your convenience.

I am, Sir, your obedient Servant
Thomas Dry.

W. H F. Talbot Esqre

Notes:

1. Antoine Françoise Jean Claudet (1797–1867), London; French-born scientist, merchant & photographer, resident in London.
