Fenton Wooler
Sept 29. 1875

My dear Uncle Henry

On my return here last night I was so set upon by the combined families – Durham’s & my own – including Durham himself – imploring me to stay here a little longer that, having no special reason for hurrying south, & thinking that you would forgive my postponing my visit to you – I surrendered.

I hope you will not mind my changeableness, & that, if you are still at Lacock when we do go homewards, you will, if convenient allow me to spend a couple of nights there en route then. I have hardly had time to settle my altered plans but I think, we shall be leaving London on our way home on Friday or Saturday in next week instead of this.

I am vy glad to hear that Rosamond <1> will be at home.

Believe me Yr afft nephew
Mount Edgcumbe
