My dear Uncle Henry
I have just returned from a very short visit to Mount Edgcumbe, and am very soon going to start again for Cannes – I have the same Courier that has been with me for the last two years, otherwise I shd have been very glad to engage Bayer on your recommendation, & will mention his name to anybody I may hear of who is likely to want such a person.
I saw Matilda the other day and thought her looking remarkably well – She was very kind in asking us to pay them a visit on our way south, but I fear we shall not be able to manage it, as it is not in the direct road, & I must make the journey as short as I can for my wife.
With very best love to all at Lacock Believe me
