Sir

I have several times applied to Longman & Co for part 4 of your Pencil of Nature – but they always reply ‘None in town’ – I have also applied to Brooks & Co from whom I received the Enclosed reply– <1> May I take the liberty, then, of applying to you to enquire whether you still publish the work in parts & whether, if so, a supply will soon be in Longman hands –

Trusting that you will excuse the liberty I am thus taking I remain Sir yrs very respectfully
Hugh C Evans
