Mama <1> wishes the grave <2> to be on the left hand side of the door going into the Churchyard from the kitchen garden – She thinks the best place, as far as she remembers, would be between the wall & Lady Call’s monument – It must not touch the wall, but be isolated, so as to leave room to walk all round it, when railed in – The grave is to be bricked, & made deep enough to contain 2 coffins, separated by iron bars – There should be space enough to plant flowers, besides for some [illegible deletion] monument, & the spot carefully marked out – which had better be done by means of a temporary wooden railing –

Notes:

1. Lady Elisabeth Theresa Feilding, née Fox Strangways, first m Talbot (1773–1846), WHFT’s mother.

2. The grave of the recently deceased Rear Admiral Charles Feilding (1780– 2 Sep 1837), Royal Navy; WHFT’s step-father. [See Doc. No: 03582].
