My dear Henry

I write [under?] line merely to acknowledge your favour of yesterday & to give vent to my admiration at your sudden display of energy & decision, in having actually taken No 2 Mansfield St <1> without more ado!

Well, there is nothing like having a thing off one’s mind, & I hope we shall all be pleased – I hear from Laycock that you expect them all on Saturday? But don’t forget to turn out on the 1st May, & also that we are to have the privilege of underletting again if we like.

Ernest <2> is still very ill, though better – He had a return of gout three days ago – & is very much worn by it, & dreadfully bed–weary – I am now very glad my waiting is put off.

Ever yr affte Sister
Caroline
