Bath
Sunday April 25th 1847
My dear Henry
I mentioned your wish to Lord Mt Edgcumbe, <1> & he agrees to pay part of the sum on the 1st May – If you will tell me who is your Banker, we will cause £200 to be paid into his hands – Pray tell me if the whole sum is £s or Gs –?
It is an unusual thing as I told you, & there is never with us either a superabundance of cash – but I suppose £200 will do for the present.
Pray wish Ela <2> many happy returns of her Birthday – I left a little offering with her which I suppose she shewed you – & which I think will be useful. Do you all go to Laycock Tuesday? or do you stay behind?
Yr affte
Caroline
