My dear Henry
You never answered my letter on the subject of cadeaux <1> - but it does not signify much - as Aunt Louisa <2> has given her a magnificent!! french cashemire Shawl, & Mr Gaisford <3> has given her an extremely pretty Diamond & pearl broach - to wh my pearl & diamond drop can be appended. I thought you wd like to know this - but what I really write for is to say that Milord <4> is very anxious for your answer abt Uncle John <5> - It is thought adviseable to have another Gentleman friend for a trustee, (one may have as many as four if not more,) & Horatia <6> is very anxious to have Uncle John - so please answer directly - as matters are trainant en longuer <7> dreadfully - Do answer by return of Post, as we have got to write to Uncle John.
Yrs affly
Caroline
