My dear Henry
I am glad you are spending this lovely weather at Laycock – instead of murky London.
Thanks for your’s [sic] & Constance’s <1> cordial invitation. We stay here, I believe, till Monday – when we shall be delighted to come to you – unless we perhaps leave this on Saturday – but as long as I let you know in time, I suppose you will not mind having us two days earlier. I am so glad to see the dear old house here, without any change – Everything is kept up exactly as it used to be – it is charming! airy, sunny & perfumed with flowers.
Yr affte Sister
Caroline
