My dear Henry
I wish you would bring me a standard rose-tree <1> from some of the nursery gardens near London – if possible I should like it to be an odorata, but as that is very scarce perhaps you could not get one under 7/6, & I shd not like to give more. In that case I would like a very excellent Provins Rose, or next to that a moss, or any sort you like that is beautiful, but it must be a standard, & the talle[r] <2> the better. Also I would have a Yell[ow] Chinese rose, not a standard, if not too dear; it is a new sort, but a very small plant wd do, as they are easily propagated – I hope all this will not give you too much trouble –
yr affte Sister
Caroline –
The small sort I want is a Yellow Chinese – as I am afraid the name will come under the seal –
