My Dear Mother
This is already the second letter I have written to you, and my tour only began yesterday.
Today I have been to see Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle.
I never saw W. Castle before, except a distant view.
I was much pleased with the Warwick Vase, <1> which is placed in a greenhouse looking down upon Shakspeare’s River Avon –
The weather is dull and dark –
Yours affly
Henry

Notes:
1. Roman vase, excavated near Tivoli, now in the Burrell Collection, Glasgow.
