My dear Henry

As I promised to write you good news if I had any to communicate I just send you a line to say Papa <1> had a much better night than for some time past & certainly seems better to-day, & complained less when his leg was touched than yesterday – Mr Cutler <2> has just been here – he says the swelling above the knee is just the same – but otherwise he thinks him a little improved. He consented to eat some dinner consisting of roast beef which is a great thing – Pray tell us where you are & what about –

Yr affte sister

W. Henry Fox Talbot Esqre
Laycock Abbey
