My dear Henry
I have never heard from Stilwell <1> about the money I owed you – I suppose he would not pay it without my order – if so please to let me know the amount, that it may be done at once From some discourse you had with Caroline <2> the other day I think that in all your new enterprises & experiments you would be pleased to have a little more ready money – & I should like to do anything I could to assist. Were it in my power I would gladly propose to give you at once the 500£ poor Mama was so anxious to have restored to you – but I cannot quite do that as you know yet. I will therefore if you approve give Stilwell orders to pay 100£ of it to your Banker now – trusting to be able at some future time to add more
Hoping to be soon with you at Laycock I add no more
