My dear Horatia

It is exceedingly kind of you to think of helping me, but I do not require it – The 500£ which you mention I do not recognize as owing to me in any way. We will settle our accounts when I have paid the legacy duty for you to government. Mr King <1> is going to settle it I hope in a few days

Your affte
Henry

Yesterday evening I was romantically inclined, with a feeling for the grander scenes of nature, so I went to see the sunset from the summit of Primrose Hill! <2> where by the way I never was before – Or perhaps it was that I thought a long walk would do me good. However that was, the wind was uncommonly keen, & gave me such a hoarseness that I can hardly articulate today

Notes:

1. Of the William Read King & Son, solicitors, London.

2. Primrose Hill is a hillock on the north-west side of Regent’s Park, London. It provides a fine view of Westminster and the City.
