Herewith I send the book in order that you may examine it and see the different sums I have paid since you advanced me money last all of which is expended now. I shall be very much obliged for some more in advance as soon as convenient

in one weeks acct you may see where I paid for 4 scythes with two new handles and some Iron work amounting to £1··s3 the scythes will stand for 18 months and the Handles and Iron work for Years. I was obliged to buy pea stakes. I first bought 7s worth to try how far they would go and last week I bought the same quantity and now I find that I shall want 7s worth more yet they are sold in small bundles at 6d each. by having a full supply this Season they may be kept up by adding 10s worth to them yearly as pea stakes seldom lasts <sic> longer than two years I likewise bought four bushels of lime for which I paid 3s/6 for destroying Slugs I never saw so many as there are here in all my life – I planted out four Hundred lettuce one damp afternoon and there were not one to be seen in the morning they destroyed almost all the sweet peas indeed every thing young and tender they destroy before them <Sir?> every thing is going on very well
