Banks <1> says he has been cleaning off the windows and pointing the walls last week –
fine showery weather just now. every thing begins to look fresh and grow vigorously
the Seniciæ of Corfu, that you have sown in the green house is in bloom. a beautiful single yellow colour grows dwarf – I have turned one pot of it out into Miss Feilding’s <2> garden. <3> another I intend planting in the botanic garden

2. Caroline Augusta Edgcumbe, née Feilding, Lady Mt Edgcumbe (1808–1881); WHFT’s half-sister.
