My dear Henry,
Pray accept very many thanks for the Calotype which I received by Uncle William<1> – It was the very thing that I had been wishing for ever since I had seen one in Sir Charles’s<2> possession some months ago, which I had admired particularly, so you may suppose how grateful I am for the Souvenir. –
I am sorry that I could not write sooner to express my thanks, but I have been a good deal occupied lately, & indeed the last week or two of Harriot’s<3> stay I had no time to spare. –
I had some difficulty in extracting from Uncle William who sent it to me, but at last I made out that it was to you I was indebted, – & very much obliged to you I am. –
Your Affte
Louisa C. Frampton
