3 Brook Str. Grosvenor Sqre
March 1, 1856.
Sir,
I have only just now returned from Liverpool and have found your most kind note agreeing to my respectful request with regard to the dedication of my book and a parcel containing most remarkable steel prints from your photographic engravings. I beg to thank you with all my heart for the very courteous readiness with which you have accepted my dedication and for the liberal communication of your latest extraordinary discovery by which I shall be enabled to devote to a fact of such a stupendous bearing in the departments of science, of the fine arts and even of manufacturing skill some portion of my book. I take the liberty to offer my humble congratulations for this latest benefit conferred on your contemporaries as well as on posterity and to state that I shall consider it my duty to send my book as soon as it is printed.
I have the honour to remain, Sir,
your obedient and grateful servant
Dr. Franck
