Erlestoke Park Devizes <1>
July 20 1865

My dear Talbot

As one of Ld C. Bruce’s committee<2> I to ask you to vote for him on Friday. His friends seem afraid that many supporters think his cause certain of success & that they may therefore not exert themselves –

I was very glad to see Charles<3> in town & was much pleased with his earnestness about his profession. I sd have tried to shew him more hospitality but was absent last week on Super Electionary business.

I am sorry that I cannot come to call upon you at Lacock before I return to town but my wife was unwell when I left & I expect Horace <4> for School tomorrow with best regards to Your family

Yours vy truly
Gaisford
