Herewith I beg to send you a Copy of the Proceedings unanimously agreed to at a Meeting of the Bailiff and Burgesses of this Borough in Common Hall assembled on the 28th Ins: &

At this Meeting it was unanimously agreed that it would be very desirable to obtain An Act for Lighting Watching and Improving the Town and Borough of Chippenham.

It was Resolved

That the Sum of One hundred Pounds be Appropriated from the Corporation Funds in aid of the above Object.

That a Copy of the above resolutions be forwarded to the Members for the Borough – Soliciting their Contribution.
