Dear Sir, –

Accept I beg you my thanks for yr satisfactory answers to my troublesome questions. As the cylinder is of Tiglath Pileser I., does it follow that it was deposited after his reign, and that there was a Second king of that name? The difference in the Chronology of the date of this king and that of the book of Kings may be explained more clearly when chronology itself shall have become more exlal a exact.

It will afford me much pleasure to verify any examinations you may wish to be made at the B. Museum, your absence from London preventing you doing it more accurately yourself.
