Theobalds –
Nr Waltham Cross
Herts –
13 / 12. 1845 –

Dear Sir

I am induced to address you on the subject of taking the shooting over your land and Farms – of Ash-Hill & Nethermore (I believe) Farms – from learning you have before let the shooting over them – but have now allowed your Tenants the power – I am not an avaricious sportsman nor is my object that of profit – I am very fond of the amusement but will never presume at the expense of the Farmer – & if there is any reasonable Hare & Game I should be willing to recompense –

Shall you have any objection supposing I obtain the consent of your Tenants to grant me the Right of shooting – & will you name the yearly amount of Rental –

Should you accede to my wishes I shall have great pleasure in occasionally sending you some Game – if my success will enable me to do so –

Mr Sotheron who resides at Bowden Park – will give you I am sure any necessary information but perhaps you were personally known to my late Father Ezekiel Harman

I am your obliged
E. D. Harman
