Whorlton.
June 4. 1860/
My dear Sir
I find that I shall be able to go from home for 2 or 3 weeks after the 17 of June, and I shall be glad to know, whether you will like your son to accompany me, or to take a short holiday – I have not quite fixed where I shall go myself, but probably either into Cumberland or Scotland – in either case I should be glad to take your son with me, if no other arrangement is convenient – He has not been very well lately, & I think that a change would do him good – I shall be settled at home again by the 14 of July –
He seems to like his poney very well, and he has certainly been very fortunate in meeting with one to suit him so well, as it is both quiet and suited both for riding or driving –
In consequence of not being very well, he has not been in such good condition for reading lately, but he is better already, and will I hope soon be well again –
We have had very trying and changeable weather and there has been much suffering from the violent storm of last week –
Believe me Yours very truly
A W Headlam
