Pine Apple Street
May 17th 1850
We duly received your letter enclosing Invoice of plants forwarded a few days since, and think you are in error respecting [several botanical names, hastily scrawled] did not recommend them for planting out, you chose them from our list of new, choice, and rare plants, they are far too young to think of turning out yet awhile, if the [botanical name] of [botanical name] is the same as polymorphism a decided error must have been made in [botanical name] of plant department in selecting it = as though in [botanical name] the same, they go no farther, but are perfectly distinct – we propose therefore to send the new variety as soon as the [botanical name]is ready, waiting your further comments
We beg to remain Sir Your obt Servants
