Dear Sir

I enclose a specimen of the Sisymbrium brachycarpum that flowered in my garden from the seeds I picked out of the Texas Herbarium. <1> The S. canescens of which you sent me a Specimen, <2> is evidently a distinct plant. I also send seeds of Wiltshire growth, of this plant and of the Arenaria or Spergula oligandra <3> from Texas – The latter will be sure to grow, and you will find it a very well marked species –

Along with these are seeds of Strelitzia alba from the Cape sent by Herschel <4>

Yours very truly
H. F. Talbot

I have a rushy Scirpus, or Schśnus from Texas coming up, several plants.
