Belle vue – Hastings.
2nd March 1859. –
Sir
I thank you much for the kind explanation of your photoglyphic process and its capabilities for engraving the large piece of penmanship I mentioned. I fear however that the size you recommend for trial is too small to allow some of the minute writing to be rendered sufficiently distinct for utility –
We must however try the effect first with photographic printing, and if the result is satisfactory, I will so far take advantage of your very kind and liberal proposal, as to forward you a print and seek again your very obliging advice and assistance
I am Sir Very faithfully Yours
John Rayner Hovell
