13 Feb. 1844

Dear Sir

I thank you for your intimation,<1> but as the first No of my work is not yet published, <2> nor will be for some time, I think it could not be mentioned with advantage.

Yours truly
H.F. Talbot

Mr R. Hunt

Notes:

1. This was probably Hunt's request to make a reference in his upcoming Researches on light: an examination of all the phenomena connected with the chemical and molecular changes produced by the influence of the solar rays : embracing all the known photographic processes and new discoveries in the art (London : Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, 1844). Nearly a year earlier, Hunt had written with a similar request - see Doc. No: 04787.

2. This was Talbot's upcoming The Pencil of Nature (London: Longman, Brown, Green, & Longmans), issued in six fascicles from June 1844 to April 1846.
