Dear Sir,
I find it necessary notwithstanding the result of our meeting to write you and pause for your reply. I always felt that there was a strong objection to the terms adopted relative to the Sale of Photographs by the Society <1> but I yielded to the feelings of the gentlemen present. It appears a yet stronger objection than those I felt exists namely that every gentleman so selling his photographs becomes a trader and amenable to the Bankruptcy laws by that single act. I find therefore that it will be fatal to the Society to allow the clause to stand as it does. It appears members must give their photographs to the Society and the Society must pay you a Royalty for permission to sell It will also be urged at the public meeting that the Society by accepting your agreement commits itself and strengthens your application for the renewal of your patent, and this it is fairly said the Society must not be permitted to do.
I am Dear Sir Yours truly
Robert Hunt
