Dear Sir,

I find it necessary notwithstanding the result of our meeting to write you and pause for your reply. I always felt that there was a strong objection to the terms adopted relative to the Sale of Photographs by the Society <1> – but I yielded to the feelings of the gentlemen present. It appears a yet stronger objection than those I felt exists – namely that every gentleman so selling his photographs becomes a trader and amenable to the Bankruptcy laws by that single act. I find therefore that it will be fatal to the Society to allow the clause to stand as it does. It appears members must give their photographs to the Society – and the Society must pay you a Royalty for permission to sell – It will also be urged at the public meeting that the Society by accepting your agreement commits itself – and strengthens your application for the renewal of your patent, and this it is fairly said – the Society must not be permitted to do.

I am Dear Sir Yours truly
Robert Hunt
