Dear Sir

in May 1839 Mungo Ponton Esqr <1> communicated to the Society of Arts for Scotland a paper on the use of the Bichromate of Potash – it was printed in The Edinburgh New Philosophical Journal Vol 27. April–October 1839 under the title of “Notice of a cheap and simple method of preparing paper for Photographic Drawing in which the use of any salt of silver is dispensed with.”

Mr P. Le Neve Foster’s <2> address is 92 Chancery Lane.

I am Dear Sir Yours very truly
Robert Hunt

P.S. The Photographic Society asks me to give them a list of all the papers published since your first – on Photography – I have nearly completed that list. I am at some loss as to the dates of two or three of your Specifications – Can you oblige me with them – As it is for publication I am desirous of being scrupulously exact
