in May 1839 Mungo Ponton Esq^{r <1>} communicated to the Society of Arts for Scotland a paper on the use of the Bichromate of Potash – it was printed in The Edinburgh New Philosophical Journal Vol 27. April–October 1839 under the title of “Notice of a cheap and simple method of preparing paper for Photographic Drawing in which the use of any salt of silver is dispensed with.”
