Representative of the interests of all the governments which have divided up Africa, the Institute will insert with satisfaction your commendable name among those of its most distinguished members of its British section.
Founded both with the goal to protect, to enlighten the African race & to colonize Africa by the practical experience of missionaries, of its travellers, with the help of philanthropists, of its economists & of all the enlightened governments, the Institut d’Afrique, trusting in your great learning, will receive with gratitude all the correspondence that you judge fitting to send to it.
