My dear Sir,
I was very glad that my 2nd list <1> of views pleased you, and will send some to Henneman <2> to copy.
It would give me the greatest pleasure to connect myself with you in your Photographic enterprises, as I am so fond of the Art, and take the deepest interest in its success; if I could secure any certain emolument by it, as it is to that which I must for the present, look.
As for ourselves, we are content with the little we recieve <sic> during my Fathers life; but the provisions of Col. Jones’s will have left my Aunt so badly provided for, that as she has always been accustomed to an excellent establishment, which was a home to us, I feel bound to endeavour to make her remaining days as comfortable as possible.
I do not know whether you have any interest, but if you or any other friends cd assist me in procuring a Living, or any appointment which I am capable of holding I shd be very glad to assist you to the utmost of my ability in the Photographic line.
Did you see the praise and admiration of your Art expressed in the Spring No of the Quarterly? <3> it is in the 1st Article “On German Art”.
I think it wd be much better if the description of the particular view were placed (even written in Pencil) under each, in <front?>.
Yours very sincerely
Calvert R Jones
