Heathfield.
July 2nd. 1848.
My dear Sir,
I am sorry that the hopes I had of recieving [sic] you here during the meeting of the Association <1> are frustrated in consequence of the death of Mrs Calvert Jones’s Father, which will prevent our seeing those friends whom we expected at that time.
Mr Philipps <2> has been here during the last week making arrangements with the Local Committee they have been so good as to consider my collection of coloured Talbotypes <3> as objects of particular interest and are going to make a kind of exhibition of them.
I am glad to find from what you say that we shall have a greater certainty of good negative Paper by the proposed means, and trust that it may be soon ready.
If you lay your hand on the views of Veranda <4> which I mentioned, I shall be much obliged for Copies
Yours very truly
Calvert R Jones.
