Si ces lettres de recommendations Vous seroient de quelque utilité, Monsieur, mon but seroit accomplie.

Translation:

I am sending You enclosed, the two letters for Berlin, which I have promised You, one is for my brother the Count of Brandenburg, and the other to one of the finest Minds of Prussia, Professor Buttmann, who at the same time is the most important Librarian in Berlin, and who will be able to let You see the Royal Library, which is very large and interesting.
If these letters of recommendations would be of some use to You, Sir, my goal would be accomplished.
