My dear Mr Talbot

I have been very unwell for some days past with a little attack of gout, & altho I am now much better & am able to limp across the room I cannot help fearing it is possible I may not be well enough to be with you on Monday – I therefore write this line to prepare you for our nonappearance Altho I will not yet give up entirely the hope of being with you on Monday – At all events I trust there is little doubt of my being sufficiently recovered to travel on Tuesday – The Postman is waiting with kind regards from us all

Believe me sincerely yrs
Harriet Ker Seymer
